Aryaka Networks Inc., a leading network-as-a-service provider, has launched a new tier designed specifically for midsize businesses within its managed software-defined WAN (SD-WAN) offerings. This introduction includes security services crafted around a secure access service edge (SASE) architecture.
This week, Aryaka announced its newly designed products, including a global Layer 3 network named FlexCore. The SASE services are branded as 'Prime,' while the newly added EZ tier caters to smaller enterprises, expanding the reach of the company's SmartConnect SD-WAN. This marks Aryaka's initial step into SASE solutions with Prime.
Prime enhances Aryaka’s existing SD-WAN security capabilities, integrating features such as a secure web gateway, web filtering, and a cloud-based firewall. Currently, these SASE services operate exclusively on SmartConnect EZ, with plans to introduce Prime to the SmartConnect Pro model in the near future.
The Prime solution is built upon technology acquired from Secucloud, a German cloud-based SASE platform provider, and Aryaka aims to make it available to users by April.
The newly introduced EZ SmartConnect runs on the more economical L3 FlexCore, while the enterprise-level service known as Pro continues to operate on a higher-performing Layer 2 network. Aryaka plans to roll out the EZ tier towards the end of Q1 2022.
While pricing details for SmartConnect EZ or Prime have yet to be announced, the introduction of the FlexCore network allows for more flexible and cost-effective operations based on Layer 3, as opposed to the existing Layer 2 service, which is more performance-oriented.
According to Aryaka's CMO Shashi Kiran, this new offering is particularly tailored to the needs of midsize businesses that typically face lower performance demands and smaller IT budgets compared to Aryaka's larger enterprise clientele.
In light of the recent shift towards remote work due to the pandemic, many midsize businesses have sought the services of network-as-a-service suppliers like Aryaka to accommodate a rise in their remote workforce needs. Industry expert Zeus Kerravala from ZK Research noted that companies that previously operated with limited network capabilities now find themselves requiring more comprehensive solutions, leading to an anticipated increase in demand for managed SD-WAN and SASE services.
In addition to these offerings, Aryaka unveiled AppAssure, a new software capability that enhances visibility and observability across over 3,500 software-as-a-service applications. This feature will be complimentary for existing customers and is set to be generally available in January.
